Grigford has established an exceptional reputation for delivering services to major petrochemical projects, successfully developing 10 out of the 11 mega petrochemical complexes in the country.

Our expertise encompasses a wide range of services, including Pre-FEED, FEED, PMC, EPCM, and turnkey execution across various petrochemical processes, such as:

  • Gas and naphtha-based cracker complexes, which include gas sweetening, C2/C3 recovery, ethylene production, and high-end products like HDPE, LLDPE, PVC, VCM, and EO/EG.
  • Aromatic plants featuring naphtha splitters, pre-treaters/reformers, benzene-toluene extraction units, pyrolysis gasoline hydrogenation units, and xylene fractionation and isomerization units, with an emphasis on overall integration and optimization of these complexes.
  • Polymer plants producing HDPE, LDPE, LLDPE, polypropylene, and acrylonitrile, among others.
  • Downstream fiber products, including PFY, nylon, acrylic fiber, PSF, VCM/PVC, PBR, SBR, and spandex yarn.
  • Chemical units such as caprolactam, polyols, oxychlorination, and phthalic anhydride.

Grigford has also entered the niche petrochemical sector with the implementation of the Propylene Derivative Petrochemical Project (PDPP) for BPCL in Kochi, which includes the Acrylic (160 KTPA) and Acrylates (190 KTPA) units—the first of their kind in India—while the OXO-Alcohol unit (212 KTPA) is the largest in the country. The product slate from this project includes acrylic acid, butyl acrylate, 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, 2-ethyl hexanol, normal butanol, and iso-butanol.

Additionally, Grigford is executing a groundbreaking project in the petrochemical sector: the PDH-PP project for GAIL in Usar, Maharashtra, which will be India's inaugural propane dehydrogenation (PDH) plant. This PDH unit will have a nameplate capacity of 500 KTPA, with propylene production seamlessly integrated into a polypropylene (PP) plant of equal capacity.
